I worked with Dean from 1973 to 1978 at the then Regional Center. He was a wonderful colleague and a mentor (this was my first post-graduate job). After I moved back to Florida where my family lived, sadly I lost touch with him until this last year when another colleague told me he was still working at the "Regional" Center. I contacted him and we had a chance to have a wonderful extended telephone conversation. So glad I did this. I just learned of his death and am so sorry we didn't have more chances to talk. He was a good listener, kind and caring.

Dean was a very special man who will be dearly missed. He was a humanitarians's humanitarian and the void created in the universe by his loss will be felt by so many. Thank you, Dean, for all the years of service and support you provided to so many.

I don't think he ever met a stranger nor did he ever meet a man who he couldn't consider as friend because Dean was one of the finest men I ever met. I can't begin to express the way my heart broke when I heard of the loss of someone that was first introduced to us as our service co-ordinator but ended up as our dear friend. He always took the time to listed and understand and take the extra time to help wherever he seen the need. The world lost an Angel the day Thr Lord brought Dean home. Dean we will miss you always. Forever in our hearts. We sure loved and appreciated you.

I worked with Dean for many years as many of my students were his clients. He was always compassionate and calm. He had deep respect for clients as well as the parents and the school. He could diffuse a tricky situation with peace and clarity. He was a rock star! He will truly be missed.
