Most won't remember me, but I was the stepson of her brother Mike and only knew her through my boyhood years. It's heartening to know that she became an elder teacher of the traditional ways. Although I left the area years ago and never stayed in touch, I thought of her many times in the past years. My condolences to all of the family and friends.

Mendocino county has loss a well known Pomo woman......Christine shared with many people her knowledge of her heritage and culture of her Pomo land. She taught many people in this community what she was taught. Basket making,, dance groups dresses....boys learned how to make there head pieces and jewelry.... She worked hard to get into the schools, trying to make a difference for our Native Pomo children...she also got the pomo children into Space.....a great opportunity for the children to express their talents..... Yes she was one of our great teachers who cared for the little ones...even feeling tired as she was she went to Pinoeville Headstart...she enjoyed working her grandchildren... School.....that was what kept her going... Christine you will be greatly missed... So glad I was able to take some classes she taught..and some great cherished treasurers that she taught me to make....your with the angels flying through the heavens. Condolences to the family...
