My condolences to all of the family of Ernest Maxwell McKee Jr. You do not know me but I was fortunate enough to have met one of the grandchildren of his at the Sacramento airport on April 2ND when I was in rought back to WI. after seeing my 1st grandbaby (boy, named Sekoyah) in northern Ca. for the very first time. I believe he (grandson) told me his name was Lee (not sure) but he talked so highly of his Grand Father that had just passed (90 years of age) and I believe he (Lee ?) now lives in Il. We thought we would talk more at the next stop in Salt lake City UT. But never had the privledge. My Dad just turned 91 years of age on Mar. 6th this year and I thank God for me being able to have him in my life all of these years, not all are so very lucky (blessed). He is such a joy to be around and still continues to make us laugh with all the stories he can tell from days gone by and all that is in the news today. He still lives in his own little place (after farming his land for many years) and loves life, fishing, hunting, bingo, euchre and loves to talk to everyone that he meets. Crazy, .......but he goes out more than I do.....
I feel so blessed to have met people so awesome like I was able to when talking to Lee.. Must be a chip off the block because sounds like Max was a wonderful man!!! God bless all of you and know that I feel your pain. Can not stand the thought of when the day my Dad leaves this world, just hope he saves a spot there in heaven for me.
Max was a great man and did so much for the parts of CA. he loved. I know all will miss him. God bless all of you!

Sincerely, Carol L O'Connell
