ALLEN "BERGIE" BERGLUND Allen "Bergie" Berglund went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2017 at the age of 87. A native Californian, Allen was born in Loma Linda, lived in So. California until moving his family to Redwood Valley and residing here since 1966. He went to work for Remco, retiring from there in 1992. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1950-1954. He had a love for the Lord and has been involved in church for many years, currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ukiah, CA. Allen is survived by Irene, his wife of 61 years, son Randy of Ukiah, daughter Becky (Steve) Myers of Ukiah; sister Alda and brother Bud in Idaho, brother Mac in Alaska; grandchildren Vanessa, Juliana, Nick, Wyatt, Carly (Rich) Solda; and great grandson Bentley. He is preceded in death by his son Eric of Fiddletown, CA, sister Charlotte of CA, and parents Allen Berglund Sr., and Bessie LaBelle, stepparents Frenchie LaBelle, Betty Berglund and Inez Berglund. His hobbies over the years included water skiing, boat racing, go-karting, and motorcycle racing, but his greatest passion in recent years was restoring and painting old cars. He rebuilt a '40 Ford coupe from the ground up doing all the work including body & paint, but not the upholstery. He participated in car shows for many years. Services will be held Saturday, August 19th at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor David Donnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor may be made through Calvary Baptist Church, 465 Luce Ave, Ukiah, CA. 95482. Make check payable to Calvary Baptist Church designated to "Bergie's Memorial Fund".

Mr.and Mrs.Burgundg I've love getting to know you over the years at Raleys, making your thanksgiving dinner and now serving your daughter. Thank you for allowing me the joy of being friends with you and sharing all these great memories I truly feel like you were family as odd as that my sound. I can remember how surprised Bergie was when I brought in the baby rabbits to play with. He said we don't usually play with our food. Such a wonderful man who with Irene raised an amazing family. Much love to you all Irene, Randy and Becky.
