I met Stan when I first interviewed at BAE, and he immediately made me feel comfortable, like I knew him for years. I really enjoyed working with Stan, as he was brilliant, yet had no ego, and was willing to help out in any way he could. He was always very positive and supportive, and had a great sense of humor. Stan is deeply missed.

Dear Mardee and Ari,
We are very sorry to hear of Stan's passing. There is really nothing one can say at a time like this, but know you are thought of often. We hope, after some time, the pain will pass and the memories you all share will carry you though.
With deepest sympathy,
Don, Anne Marie and Emily Kolaya

I knew Stan in graduate school at Berkeley during the early '70's, of course a strange time. He and I were in the same field of mathematics there (topology), he one or two years my senior, so we were often in the same seminars, etc. He was an inspiration to us youngsters - very energetic and full of life. I regret not having kept in touch and offer my sympathy to his family.

Stan was a wonderful member of the BAE Family. His kindness, patience, and dedication is missed by many. I know that many of us are thinking of Stan and his family. I am personally saddened, and I am so thankful for having had the opportunity to know and work with him.

I am very sorry to hear about Stan. Stan and I worked together on and off for the last 10 years, and he was one of the brightest people I have ever worked with. My condolences to all of you.

Dear Mardee
Please accept our deepest sympathy regarding Stan's passing. May your faith in God console you and help the two of you through this difficult time. We did not know Stan well but the couple of times that we did meet he was a very kind and gentle man who loved his family very much.

Stan was among my favorite people growing up. He had one of the best senses of humor that I have ever learned from. The world will be a more boring place without him.

Dear Mardee and Ari,
Stan was my best friend growing up. We walked to school together. We played ball together, learned to ice skate together, planted flowers and vegetables together. Listened to classical music together and he even converted me to a Detroit Tigers fan. We both idolized Harvey Keane and Al Kaline. I so enjoyed my visits to Succasunna, NJ each summer. It seemed like thousands of miles away from Queens, NY where we were neighbors. I was always depressed when I left to go back home.
He was my smartest friend. He was like a brother to me growing up. I didn't know what he was doing when he read books entitled Differential equations, Matrix theory and Tensor analysis. He didn't seem like a nerd to me then. Maybe they didn't exist at the time. He was so very well rounded. He also read comics and science fiction. I was so proud of his going to Stuyvesant High School. Winning scholarships. Getting his PHD at Berkeley. I told everyone about him. He was the perfect friend. We didn't see much of each other as adults, but he was always in my heart. I did not know of his illness and was shocked at the news of his death. He will always be in my heart and thoughts as long as I live. Stan I am so saddened by the thought of you not being here anymore. I do not know what to say to Mardee and Ari except I loved Stan and anyone who loved him.
