John "Jack" Edward Jaeckels, 87, of Arlington passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, after a long illness. Service: At Jack's request, no funeral will be held. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Meals On Wheels, Theatre Arlington or the Fort Worth Symphony. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Jack spent most of his life in the advertising specialty industry and retired in 1993. He was born March 18, 1927, in Morrison, Wis., and lived in Wisconsin and Illinois until he moved to Texas in 1981. He married his wife, Julia, in 1983. In his retirement, he enjoyed his photography, traveling, making pies, and his grandchildren. Survivors: His wife, Julia; sisters, Helen Kitzmiller of Appleton, Wis., Joey Kuchelmeister of Greensboro, N.C.; daughters, Connie Gibbs of Phoenix, Ariz., B.J. Jaeckels of New Holstein, Wis., Paula Werstler of Pfugerville; sons, John Jaeckels of Neenah, Wis., Michael Jaeckels of Seattle, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was a valued Theatre Arlington Guild Volunteer for many years. Was so sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathy Julia and family.
