I was fortunate to meet John in school before we both joined SHOUP's Wardroom. He was a good friend and dedicated professional, completely devoted to the Navy and his family. I've never met Joannie but I know how proud he was of her.

We are so sorry for the loss of a wonderful sailor as well as a friend of ours. He will be truly missed by so many. John touched so many lives along the way. I served with John on the USS SHOUP DDG-86.

I really enjoyed working with John. He loved the Navy and was willing to do anything to help his sailors and his teammates. John I wish I could tell you that you touched so many people in a great way. You are home now, rest in peace.
