Sometimes we take for granted the tremendous work and immense danger that Police forces in Canada endure to protect us. To give one's life to make our Country a safer place to life is the ultimate sacrifice. It is a terribly sad day when this occurs.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Valerie Gignac. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Please accept our condolences for the tragic loss of Cst. Valerie Gignac. I too have a daughter who is just 22 and has recently become a member of the RCMP and this would be the worst possible nightmare a mother could have. My heart goes out to this young woman whose life was cut so short, her boyfried, her family and all of the police officers that knew and worked with her. May God bless you all. You are all to be admired for the courageous and dangerous work you do.
