Al was my mom's brother. Aunty Donnie(Alistair's mom) and my mom(Bea) are the two sisters left. Uncle Al was my favourite uncle too. Fond memories of all his stories and jokes that took a long time to tell and had us laughing all the way through. I especially remember learning to water ski at Lake of Bays one summer when we visited. So much fun. I will miss him greatly. Many condolences to Aunt Jan and the rest of the family as well as his many friends.

Natalie just informed us. As kids, we grew up with Al and Jan, good friends of our parents Ernie and Pierrette, the Aarups, Delaney's and the Gleboffs. We have great memories. We send our heartfelt condolences, Jan. The Stones family.

I was fortunate to meet Al through Benny Hall and his hockey cronies in CP Air and Canadian Airlines. I would enjoy having a few chats with Al at the Delta Ice Hawk games over the years and exchanging info about any of the old "hockey guys" either of us hand seen....WONDERFUL PERSON.

Deepest sympathy to Bea and family. Hugs.

Among many wonderful attributes, Al was integral to the golden days of perpetual youth at Lake of Bays, happy memories of which have informed the lives of two generations.

Richard (in absentia) and Sam are honoured to have known him.

Our deepest condolences to Jan and the family . A great guy with a big laugh and always had stories and jokes in the dressing room. RIP Al

Our sincere condolences to Auntie Jan, Donna & Vern, Dave, Dan & Jen, Doug & Lisa. Uncle Al's smile, love of life and sense of humor are just a few of the things we admired and loved about him. He will be missed but definitely not forgotten. All our love. Todd, Stacy, Nathan, Megan & Taralyn

Al was my mum's brother, my fun uncle- the one I always wished my dad was a little more like, especially when I was in trouble. Al told great stories (embellished I'm sure). He had an infectious laugh, a glimmer in his eye, and an optimistic perspective. I do wish my life had kept me closer to Uncle Al but I have still benefited from his life and I'm grateful.
My sincere condolences to you, Jan, your family, and to the folks who, like me, will miss him.

Al was a 'story teller' and a 'true giver of fantastic memories'. Memories that Helen, I, Kirstie and Kate will always cherish and a dear friendship that will be deep in our hearts forever.
Our sincere sympathy and condolences to Jan and her family.
