Ben we grew up together and your memory
will be with me always. You were a good man and a good friend. You are missed.
Ben we went to school together from grade 1 to 10 was shocked and sadened when I heard what happened. It looks like you were on top of the world my prayers and thoughts go out to your wife and family
My name is William Wallace, but Ben knew me as Bill. My family, along with the Mannings and others would get toether with the Bankys' over holidays and special events like birthdays and such to enjoy a meal, share a laugh and have a great time. We grew apart over the years, as our 5 year age difference always seems to be more of a deal when we are young. I confess that I had lost touch completely with Ben and his family, but my mother and her extended friends did stay in touch and I would hear reports over the years about what we were all up to. It is with the most profound sadness that I learned of Ben's death. I have read many loving and heart felt tributes over the past few days and have been inspired by a man who I only knew as a boy, and now will never know. I too will never forget Ben. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. I hope we all have a little of Ben in us, and we can continue to share him through ourselves with the rest of the world every day.
i only knew of ben banky through mutual friends. his reputation as a generous and gracious man, friend, and employer exceeded him. i was shocked when i became aware of this horrible tragedy. my heart is with all of you as you grieve the loss of such a special person in your lives.
may you find peace in your hearts.
Dearest Kathy, Jake and John
My heart aches for you each day when I think of you and your tremendous loss. I hope I may speak for all of our friends on the Island; if we all join hands I know you would feel our love all the way across Canada! There is a lot of us and we are all so sorry. I picked up a stack of January Common Ground to make sure everyone knows what an amazing life Ben lived - Big & Fabulous! Love from....
I first met Ben at Community Natural Foods when he and Matt were just starting up. Although I did not know Ben well he always said hello and took the time to chat. I will remember Ben for his calm compassion and intelligence. He was a great example of a genuinly honest businessman. We crossed paths many times and I feel privalaged to have known him. Ben, you will be remembered and missed.

My thoughts and sympathies go out also to Matt, Ben's wife and family and all the staff at Tallgrass. A big hug for all of you.
I spent a few summers with Ben in the bush up North 17-20 years ago treeplanting. Ben was a remarkable person then and from all accounts he had grown in to a very accomplished individual in many aspects. When I think of Ben I think of that open smile and a big curly head of hair, a quick wit a talented guitar player and a genuinely nice guy. I wish I knew he had been working less than a block from my home, I would have been glad to have been reacquainted with Ben again. A truly inspiring guy who made a positive impact.
Jake and Kathy, our dear and precious friends, our hearts are heavy with grief for you. May the closeness of your friends and family strengthen you. We love you.
Dear Linda, Kathy and Jake:

The news of Ben´s untimely passing pierced us to the heart, and we both feel wounded and outraged.
We both have so many things in our heart that we wish to say to you to express our feelings about your loss, but for now we can only say that all of you and Ben are in our thoughts everyday as we travel through Mexico.
Over the years, Ben has become a part of our lives, as he has become part of so many other lives and the centre of so many different communities. Ben was a big man with an even bigger heart, and we will miss him dearly, and regret that, as good a friend as he already was, we didn´t have the chance to get to know him even better. This is a loss that will take a long time to get over.
All our love and support,
Dear Linda, I was very sad to hear of your loss. You are in my prayers.
