Cecil Calder Nicolson February 21, 1935 - December 23, 2017 Born and raised in the Orkney Isles, dad finally succumbed to cancer after a long battle. Married 55 years, he was a fantastic story teller and had a great sense of humour. A member of Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 280. He served the Cdn Cancer Society as a volunteer driver for over 25 years, an accomplishment he was very proud of. Dad checked the obituaries every day to "make sure he wasn't in there". Predeceased by daughter Lynda, he is dearly missed by wife Meta, son Wayne (Daphne), grandchildren Leah, Peter, Kassia and Jacob. Interment in spring; date to be decided.

This is shocking and sad news. I'll miss seeing Uncle Cecil, his smiles, listening to his stories and his gentle nature which (in my opinion) was probably closest to Grandpa Corsie's. He was an incredibly supportive and kind person. Loosing him is so sad. All my love and best to Auntie Meta, Wayne and family. My deepest sympathies.
