So sad to hear about Clay and the sorrow of his beloved family. The love he showed to Margaret, daughters, mother in law and family spoke so much about his heart and feelings. We will miss him dearly but he will remain in our memories with his smile always sharing comments and happy thoughts.

We were sorry to hear of Clay's passing..so happy that Tim and I got to speak to him on Christmas night..Clay was a bright spot in your immediate family but also in the extended Smart family. He was so welcoming to us when we visited and we loved him dearly..I know your hearts are broken now, but you have sooooooooo many happy memories..Hang onto them now to help you heal.. We love all of you.

Although I only met Clay very briefly twice, Margaret from all your pictures and words it's very clear you and Clay had a very special relationship and he was a loving caring family man and an extraordinary person and will be missed by all your family. I'm thinking about you at this very sad time and my heart goes out to all of you for your loss.

I never actually met Clay but I could see his love in Margaret's face. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family. Take care of each other. Over time it does get easier to deal with your grief but it never really goes away.Hugs. Sandy Aitchison.

I was so saddened to see Clay's obituary in the Sun newspaper. I am an old family friend (Dianne Nylund) who knew Clay when he was born. My mother babysat him and he was like a little brother to me. He used to sit on our steps and wait for us to come home from school. I moved away from Fort Frances when Clay was three. Although I didn't see Clay often I did hear about him through his parents and Yvonne over the years. Unfortunately I have not seen Yvonne for several years and do not have her current phone number. Could you please ask her to call me at 604-530-6047. We will be away in Mexico so cannot attend the celebration of life. Dave and I send you all our deepest sympathy.
