I shared a dormitory with Dan and four others at Atlantic College in the 1960s. Although I have never seen him since, I can still see his warm smile and hear his Canadian twang. He taught me how to eat dulce (dried seaweed) and seemed worldly wise. Despite the huge passage of time it is a sad shock. Sincere wishes to any family who read this, he was a fine man. Claire and friends/relatives of Dan

News has only just filtered through to the UK about Dan. His friends from Atlantic College, in Wales, none of whom I guess you knew, have been sending in messages to our AC Network remembering the lovely, generous, energetic and always good natured young man we spent two years with. I am really sorry for your loss and for the delay in writing. I was in occasional touch with Dan over the last decade - but not recently. He had a happy knack of being a good friend to all who knew him. He was an extrovert but with a gentle side and a winning sense of humour. So on behalf of a lot of old men across the world can I say again how sad we are. If it would help at all to be in touch with us about Dan please let me know. John
