Wes, terribly sorry to hear about david's death. I've been in Palm Springs all winter and didn't realize how ill he had become. He was one of my favourite people. He did my hair for years and I would always look forward to our afternoons together when we voiced our opinions on people, Vancouver, movies, yoga......... We really laughed a lot and I would save up things I knew he would enjoy to tell him. I asked my sister in Vancouver to go to his memorial service. She did and at the end of her description of the very moving service, she said "the church was packed, a lot of women with nice hair". David would have liked that.

Dear Wes,
I am so saddened to hear of your enormous loss.
My heart goes out to you.

Dear Wesely,
I am so sorry about David's premature death, which I accidentally first read about in the Globe and then in the Wpg Free Press.

When I knew him, David was and I imagine, continued to be full of life and wit for as long as was possible.

I am a childhood friend of David's from Grade 6 at Mulvey School through to graduation from Gordon Bell.
David and I used to walk home from school regularly - I lived on Sherbrook; the Kosseks lived on Furby. When I moved to Roslyn Road in Grade 10 David continued to walk along with me.

We laughed and gossiped, spoke about books, fashion, music, our doubts, our dreams, our fears, our hopes, our futures, or our annoying European parents. Sometimes we conjugated Latin verbs.. David was the prize Latin student!

Often we'd pool our loose change for a milk shake or a butter tart from Harman's Drugstore, or the Pie store on Sherbrook and Broadway,or Picardy's at Broadway and Osborne.

When we graduated from Gordon Bell, I went to United College, David to Hair School and he never looked back! We lost our regular communication, but whenever we did see each other we went right back to our usual shrieks of laughter.

He did cut my hair for awhile before you moved to Vancouver.

He was very proud of being your partner.. I don't know if you married.. He cared for you devotedly.

I know time is supposed to make a difference.. but it won't be easy.. Take comfort that the two of you were so fortunate to meet, to fall in love, to mesh in life. Some people never get any of this quality.

I was also sorry to hear that Marilyn had also died so early.. She was a wonderful girl and I'm sure she accomplished a wonderful rich life.
My thoughts are with you and your sister... look after yourself,

I had the privilege of working with David. He was a wonderful man, that was adored and held in high regard by many. Although I only worked for David for a short time I learned a great deal about business from him. I recently ran into him at a Hair Show and had no idea he was sick. He was so passionate about the Hair Industry. Davids passing will be definitely felt in the BC Hairdressing Community. RIP David. My thoughts to his partner, sister, friends, and his loved clients. Truly such a loss.
