I was so saddened to hear of Dawn's passing. As a fellow Notary she was well respected and friend to many including myself. She was part of our North Shore Chapter of Notaries and I got to know her a bit more even though we have worked together for so many years. I always enjoyed working with her because you knew it would be a smooth transaction. She was a great Notary and a great representative for our Society. Please accept my condolences to your family - may your happy memories stay close in your heart and in time make you smile. With deepest sympathy,

Dear Crystal, Lisa, Joan, and family,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I find it practically incomprehensible that Dawn is gone. I can't imagine how you're feeling.

Dawn and I go way back, as you probably know. We were letter carriers in the same station on Hastings near Willingdon (Depot 11) back in the early 80s. She, Matti, and the girls moved to the house here on Edinburgh from the house on Fell a year or so after I met her. (At least, that's my recollection) A year or so after that (in 1983), I (and my partner at the time) moved to the place on Buckingham. She joked that I'd followed her out to Coronation Park.

She was always very nice to me, and I recall one time she really went out of her way to help me. I was making a housecoat for my partner for Christmas, but kept getting stuck. (I don't know why I thought that was a good idea, given my sewing skills.) I brought it up to her place a couple of times, ostensibly for some help. In reality, she wound up doing most of the work!

She also did some notary public work for me. It was great to deal with somebody I knew I could trust and who let her sense of humour shineit made the legal details as fun as possible.

The last many years, our paths didn't cross near as often as I would have liked. I moved away for a while, then I guess we were just busy with our own things. I wish I'd known her better and that we'd spent more time together.

It was always delightful to see her. I will miss the smiles and the laughs.

Our deepest condolences go out to Joan, Crystal and Lisa at this very sad time. I will miss seeing Dawn's smiling face and friendly wave while walking passed her house.
