I'm sorry that a cold prevented me from attending the memorial service for Garth. Garth was the first neighbour who welcomed us into the 'hood 30 years ago and I won't be able to venture into the laneway without thinking fondly of him. Every time I looked out of the kitchen window I wondered if I'd see him out on his roof!

Garth, my favourite memory of our new neighbourhood will always be the moment we first met you. We were in the alley, with the random notion of building stilts and learning how to use them. You came out to check out the commotion. We worried we were being annoying. You took one look at our sorry excuses for engineering and proclaimed (with a twinkle and a smile), "That's not how you make good stilts, here, let me show you!" I was smitten. I knew we were living in the best spot, with the best neighbour. Thank you. Rest well, we will miss you.

Garth ,I remember the day back in grade 5 when I was the new kid and you welcomed me . Also, when you took me to our Kits graduation and the reunions of Young Peoples . I will miss you, Even though it was afew years between meetings. You were a lifetime friend. It was a privilège for Keith and I to know you and Shirley. Sleep well my friend.
