Thank you for sharing your Father with me he became a surrogate Father after the passing of mine in 1998. He was a life coach, a mentor and a lacrosse adviser/sounding board after many games. I would call him long distance on my cell phone after our games in Calgary. He was especially pleased to hear how many short handed goals we would score against the opposition as a result of our attack short-man defense. I am saddened to hear of his passing before I had an opportunity to say my final goodbye before he made his transition. I will do that now and all those who knew him like I did the man who loved and was so proud of his family but had trouble expressing his feelings. I heard that Jack Crosby from Burnaby was getting really bored up there. He has someone now and Roy will be happy to keep him company!!
I express my sorrow but remember the times of great joy and laughter whenever we were together. Thank you again to the Pinder family for sharing their Dad and Grandfather with me.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your dad, will remember the lessons taught at the old Steveston box and Richmond arena, always willing to share his knowledge of the sport either as a mentor or fan. He was always up to date on the activities of all of the family and proud of you all, we will miss chatting with him at the games, our deepest sympathy and best wishes to all of you and your families.

Roy, Dad, GPaw,

To my family you are all of these, but for you Roy, a name was just a title until you gave it meaning with a nickname and a smile. To me, you will always be, “Dad”
It means a lifetime of memories that cannot ever be forgotten with absence or time.
For me dad, you took that place in my heart that had been so empty, the place of a father.
You stood in front of me that day, 22 years ago in Ladner and opened your arms to let me take my place in your heart. You will continue to live in my heart as a father once lost but then found, and I miss you so much already dad?
You have affected the lives of our children in ways that will last a lifetime, thank you for being a man they looked up too and cherished.
The Vancouver Sun will never be the same without your elaborate daily horoscope readings. I have a reading for you, my father, and it's from the book of Jamie,
Wednesday you shall find eternal happiness when you find those in your heart that once seemed to be lost. You will find peace and happiness once your little girl finds you. Frank Sinatra will sing and You will dance in the arms of your sweetheart once again. Daily your horse will come in first place and pay you a jackpot.
Your grand children are all incredible and you are right, they all have that fight inside to go get what you want and grab it. Thank you so much for your contribution in the lives of mine, you taught them to laugh at a tough situation, to listen to their hearts and go get what they want, nothing is out of reach, just believe. Forever you will live in the hearts of those lives you have touched.
Vicki, Gerry, Ron and Tom, thank you for sharing your dad with me.
Love, Jamie Lee

Ron, so sorry for the passing of your father. Laura and John Swan
I had the pleasure of coaching the Coquitlam Adanacs with Roy in 1995. he and I connected very well and made the best of a difficult year in Adanac history ! we spent many hours talking about lacrosse but also about life and family! he loved his sons and was very proud of their accomplishments in lacrosse but also as adults and parents. I played with Gerry and Ron with the Vancouver Burrards and got to meet Tom and family years later! Shea Pinder is currently playing rugby for me at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary this year and he is another great Pinder athlete and a nice young man! Roy I know how proud you are and I will miss our discussions about life and sport! To the Pinder family I appreciate how you will miss the "crusty old guy"
