Dunae and Wendy Gurr, nephew and niece- in-law to Helen. We and our family will sadly miss Joe. He was as his obituary said, a true gentlemen and a kind and caring man. We will miss his stories about the Artic, his time with B.C. Hydro, his family and the trips he and Helen took. We had many fun visits with Joe and Helen on their trips to Alberta and ours to B.C.. We were so sorry we couldn't attend his service, but our thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Helen, Allan, Beverly, Gael and their families.

Allen Jackson son of Johnny Jackson. My father worked with Joe in the Arctic for many years. Johnny Jackson pre-deceased by Joe.

We the sons and daughters are the legacy of our parents and we will keep their memories alive.

I will pass on this sad news to people that Joe lived with in Coppermine NWT.

It is never easy to lose people you love, especially the ones that gave us life.

I have attached a photo of Joe and my Father, Mother and sister from the 1940's. Also a link to view this photo and read a little history about our parents.

Joe and my Mom sang in the Trinity Baptist choir for years and he was a good friend of our family from before I was born. I will always remember his amazing voice and friendly face. I am so sorry I wasn't able to attend the service last week, but my family was represented. Our thoughts and prayers are with Allan and Beverly and their families. Mary Lou Miles (nee Hilderman).
