Aunty Irene was always a kind, giving, warm person. Her home, in the early days with Uncle Will and son John and daughter Sharon, was also a place of solace and retreat for most of my childhood & young adult life - and later, in my mid-life -- afternoons over tea/coffee with son Robert. When I was young, I remember many days of Irene teaching me how to make crafts; as well there were special occasions, such as Boxing Days and her famous hostessing of a New Year's Day meal and her summertime Canadian Jello salads :) A caregiver to my sister, Konia, and I as new Irish/Ulster Scots-Canadian children and youth growing up in a new country - especially with her work in the Church. Irene and Sharon mentored me as a Sunday School Art teacher. Irene loved colour and knitting right up until The End. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
