I was one of the eight students Sally mentored in the UBC Diploma in the Education of Children with Learning and Behavior Disorders in 1974. Sally taught us to see every child, no matter how disabled, as a precious human being who deserved our best efforts. She expanded our minds, hearts, and horizons. She was both a teacher and friend. Sally was the first and major influence on my path to becoming a special education teacher, a path I still walk today. I will always regret not seeing her on my last trip to Vancouver. She will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to hear about the recent passing of Dr. Sally Rogow. I was a special education student at both SFU and UBC and knew her from both universities. We had many meaningful discussions regarding the education of children with multi-handicaps.Dr. Rogow was a wonderful mentor and teacher. My sincere condolences to Sally's family and dear friends. Hal and I knew Bob and Sally in our early years at SFU. I later knew her as a wonderful mentor and teacher in special education when I taught in Langley. She was an inspiration and I will remember her as a person who embodied positivity and good fun as well as a strong leader in education. Our sympathy goes out to her children, grandchildren and family. Sincerely, (Dr) Hal and Linda Weinberg
