To all of the family, friends and musical partners of Jim.

I am so terribly sorry to read of his passing.... I was honoured to perform with Jim hundreds of times during the 1990's and learned to respect his greatness with regard to all aspects of what he brought to the stage and to rehearsals.

I have strong memories of my work with Jim and will continue to spread the stories of our good times for the rest of my life.

I don't believe that I will be able to attend the memorial but will be thinking of you all and specially of Jim.

My very best wishes to everybody.

I will remember Jim for the warm compassion and enduring friendship he extended to so many. He was supportive in difficult times with his comforting humour and strength. Jim's generous, patient and affectionate spirit will be warmly remembered.

I know that there will be grateful arms welcoming him in the next phase of his soul's journey.

My condolences to you, Carol, Rachel, Jonathan and family. Jim has been a rock in my musical world since you arrived in Vancouver in the 70's- chamber music, pit orchestras, and all those moments of consummate playing with WCS. More than that, Jim has been a wise elder in our community, suffering no fools, while shepherding the dignity of all. In fond remembrance, and with love to you, Louise.

I am honoured to have played chamber music with Jim, and enjoyed having him as principal clarinet with the West Coast Symphony, where his solos were always a delight. I am especially grateful for his support of my daughter Jeanette playing as soloist with the WCSO recently. His whole-hearted dedication to the symphony was truly amazing. I'm so glad he got to go on the Albania tour.

Dear Carol,Rachel Jonathan and Jack.
I am so sad to hear of the passing of Jim. I will always remeber how much Jim loved to sing and always thought it was magical when he sang with Gerry and Jack.
With love and prayers,
