WOODROW, Joan
1946 - 2013
After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Joan passed away with her loving family by her side. Joan is survived by her devoted husband Ted; children Joanne (Mike), Jackie, Danny (Kristen); grandchildren Jessica and Bradley; brother Dr. Robert Murray; sister Lynn Murray; and nieces and nephews Heather, Richard and Grant, Brendan and Samantha. Joan was admired and loved by so many. She was known for her style, grace and elegance and that infectious laugh. Joan had a strong presence and was successful in her many roles as teacher, Tupperware distributor and homemaker. She was completely devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was loyal to her family and friends alike and enjoyed spending time with all of them. Joan had a love of gardening, knitting items for her girls and was the world's greatest shopper! She also enjoyed spending time with great friends and neighbours in Palm Springs. Joan's generous spirit, caring attitude and zest for life will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. A celebration of Joan's life will be held at Richmond Funeral Home on Monday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. (8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, BC). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the BC Cancer Agency or website at (donate.bccancerfoundation.com/goto/ JoanWoodrow) or to the Salvation Army Rotary Hospice (6460 No.4 Rd, Richmond BC). The family would like to extend special appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Richmond General Hospital Palliative Care and also to those at the Richmond Rotary Salvation Army Hospice.

Dear Mr. Woodrow, Joanne, Jackie and Danny,
I was saddened to hear of your mom's passing. I have fun memories of time spent with you all on Kingsborough Cr. "Glamming it up" with your mom's make-up, BBQ's and swims in the pool, to sleepovers spent cartwheeling around the basement to name a few... Thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

To Ted, Joanne and families,
It is with deep sadness and sympathy, that I write to you today. I first met Joan at South Arm United years ago, and then had her demonstrating Tupperware in my home...she brought joy with her bright spirit, love for what she was doing and when she spoke to you she made you feel she cared for you. Sometimes I would see her in Rmd. Centre, educating people at her booth on the greatness of her products! Her charismatic style was so gracious and her world has been made better by her presence among us. She will be missed!
