Joe was a wonderful colleague and friend. I feel so fortunate to have known him and had the opportunity to benefit from his consistently thoughtful and professional advice. He was a great friend to CLEBC (the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC) and to me personally. My thoughts and love go out to Joe and his family.

On behalf of all of us at the Labour Relations Board, we offer our deepest sympathies to the Shaw family.

Our thoughts are with you at this time of inconsolable loss.

Joe was such an important part of so many communities of friends and colleagues, including our own. We knew when we saw Joe's name on a matter at the Board that we would have the pleasure of experiencing his expert and passionate advocacy. But most importantly, we knew that we would get another chance to bask in Joe's energy, his kind spirit, and his ever-present humour.

His loss is deeply felt here. And we extend our thoughts and condolences to you, his family, at this incredibly difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the Shaw family. I knew Joey from church (Christ the King) and then friends through high school. His infamous comments bring a smile to my face. Sounds like he never out grew his fun sense of humor. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace Joey.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Shaw family, I knew Joe in grade school as well as high school, we shared mutual friends throughout our formative years. If Joe wasn't sarcastically teasing me or referring to me as airhead there was something up, Joe could always make me laugh, I had a soft spot for his sarcasm, it was Joe's way of giving you a big strong hug! I extend a big hug to Joe's family, he will be missed. Erin (Mathe) Morley
