Auntie May, Kerry, Colin, Carlene and family. I've been thinking about Uncle Les and the Jang Clan ever since I heard the sad news. Uncle Les (and Auntie May) had such a positive influence on me during my formative years. Some of the fondest memories from my youth included visiting Vancouver, eating peach pie and listening to all the stories that Uncle Les use to tell us, especially the ones that use to make Kerry's eyes roll. He was fun, whimsical and full of life and always had you listening to the end. My favourite stories were the ones from Campbell River and growing up in old Vancouver. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Uncle Les, we're going to miss you, but we have some terrific memories and we know that you are smiling down on us now. Best Regards, Donald (Henry & Mary Chu's #2), Deanna, Christopher (21) & David (18)

Les took me under his wing shortly after I became an apprentice plumber with the Vancouver School Board and he helped me become the person I am today. I remember fondly our lunch breaks in China Town for Pork Buns and tea. I will miss him.

We have such wonderful memories of our many trips to Vancouver, especially with time spent with your family. Les was always such a great story teller! We were never able to tear ourselves away before midnight during our visits. That's how I learned that some people get a second wind, once the clock strikes twelve. (It was a real eye opener for me, as Henry always got up very early every morning to go to the market here in Toronto.) However, the conversations always seemed to get more exciting as the evening rolled along, & we just HAD to hear it all. It was always fun, full of laughs, & solving all the world's problems. Les is truly a special person! He is so totally selfless, always generous, always giving, and so fun-loving & down-to-earth. Henry & I love him. Our thoughts are with you - May, Kerry, Colin, Carlene & all your children. We cherish all the memories we have of Les. They are all GOLDEN. We extend our deepest sympathy to your whole family, Henry/Mary Chu

We wanted to send our sympathies and condolences to the Jang Family...We always remember him as being a very caring and attentive grandfather when he was taking care of his grandchildren. He loved to spend time with Racheal and Nick. May your love continue through the times and memories you all shared with him and know that he is in a better place now in heaven with the saviour. God Bless Always, Jeff & Belinda Chow & Family.

Dear May,Kerry, Colin and Carlene. We are so sorry to hear about Leslie's passing, and send our deepest sympathy. I was delighted the times I was seated next to Leslie at family functions - he was always so kind and full of many interesting stories. He was a very special human on this planet. With love, Rhona and Erroll

My condolences to the Jang family. I recognize too, the legacy that Lesliess passing brings into focus - everyone I know who was close to him, carries on the tradition of hard work, perseverance and a vision of a better world.

Hi Uncle Les,
Sorry you left us so soon. I remember you taking me to the Beacon Theatre when i was 11 (1949). We saw Kirk Douglas in "Champion". Great movie.
And surprised to see you at Doug Hepburns GYM pumping iron (1951).
Never forgot your drawings at the Turner House of WW2 fighter planes.
I think they were "Flying Tigers". You were quite artistic. Probably influenced me. Fond memories.

Aunt May tells me we resembled each other when we were younger. Others have told me that also. Well, we do have the same genes.
Will definitely miss your presence........................Norman

Dear Aunt May, Kerry, Colin & Carlene, Deep condolences. We were very sadden to hear the news of Uncle Les's passing. We have the fondest memories of Uncle Les, especially the stories he shared about his boyhood, family and his work. He was always jovial and had kind and encouraging words for all those around him. Stephen fondly remembers Uncle Les and Aunt May's visit to Toronto in 1993. They had even met Jackie, before Stephen's parents had. Sincerely, Stephen, Alexander & Madeleine
