"If you live to be 100, then I want to live to be 100 minus one day so I won't have to live a day without you." Winnie the Pooh
There is a new bright star to serve as our compass and follow suit to a good life. We miss you Mona. Karen, Kenny and Dakota Norton

Mona Brun was truly one of my favourite people! We met when I was a journalist and she was the star of the Woodward's kitchen. For ethical reasons, I couldn't say how much I admired her until we'd both left our jobs, but Mona was always my secret favourite among the thousands of people I met in my role as consumer columnist for the Vancouver Sun. I had the privilege of meeting Claude not long after their marriage. Their story of friendship that later bloomed into love has delighted and inspired me for years! (If I recall correctly, Claude married Mona when he was 95 and she was perhaps a decade younger.) What a wonderful woman Mona was, and how you must all miss her! I'm sorry to have seen this notice so late, but am pleased to have had the opportunity to express these thoughts about BC's most beloved and popular homemaker. Mona Brun will live on through her popular recipes and through our enduring memories of Woodward's.

I was so saddened to hear of Mona's passing. I met Mona in the '90s when she was hosting the cooking shows at the 'Taste of BC at the PNE' she was an inspiration to me. It was a huge thrill for me to actually do some of the cooking shows with her. I will forever keep her in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of Mona's passing, I tried contacting her a year ago but was unable to connect with her. She was a true friend, with a huge heart. She was one of a kind and she will be missed. I saw Maureens obituary and will drop by.

So sorry for you loss. I remember Mona very well, as my parents Eileen & Scotty Coutts were friends for years. I still have a copy of your moms cookbook that she had given to mt mom years ago.
