I'm a McCulloch cousin of Peter's and only just heard of his passing. He was a rarity in many ways, including being a second-generation native Vancouverite. My husband and I were lucky enough to work with him and Timbre Productions for 10 years. Peter was smart, interesting, and always knew exactly what he was doing. The entertainment and related industries in Vancouver lost an honest, intelligent, and generous member.

He is our cousin we would have wished we had seen this sooner. Sorry for your loss.

The Birthday Club would like to express its profound devastation at the loss of one of our members, the coolest of the cool--Peter McCulloch. Our hearts go out to his family. If anyone is truly capable of resting in peace, it`s Peter

I was so sad when I heard the news about Peter. I remember the night at the Commadore that Angus mentioned with the table breaking as well every show I seen that was promoted by Peter.
He brought many good bands to Vancouver and had a way of connecting the music to the right venue so that band would shine.
I will miss you Peter and moving forward anytime I am at the Commadore seeing a show my first drink of the night will be a can of red wine and a minute reflecting on all the good times I had created by you. Xoxoxo

Peter is unique. Add to his graciousness and his genuine interest in others' wellbeing his giant warm heart and you have such a special person. My life is much richer for having him as a friend. AND he threw a great 75th Birthday party.

had the fortune of working with Peter and his family for over a decade. My life was so so so enriched on so many levels I can't even begin to express how greatful I am for that. Often working backstage in a security capacity I was able to witness how much work went into putting a show together and it was usually if not always a whole family affair.
From Gwar to Sigur Ros Pantera to Lucinda Williams Peter always seemed to enjoy and know about them all.
I know I would be speaking for all my yellow shirt security buddies when I say it was sometimes hard to believe we were getting paid to have so much fun working security shows for Peter and we are all greater for having had the experience
P.s. Al Campbell we worked that Green Day show, an all ages show and it was a test of our abilities to contain the incredible energy of that memorable show

I will start off by saying to Peter McCullochs family your loss is my loss as well My love to all
I was invited to a show as a guest by Yogi Garcia when I first met Peter the following week I was invited to his next show The Pogues 1982 December for three nights at the Commodore ballroom he had 4. Banquet tables on their side pushed up against the stage as a barricade with three or four production crew for stage security in front yogi and Peter asked me and and Robin Robertson to help them it was sold out the amount of pressure throughout the night on those banquet tables was just too much and The outside stage left banquet table cracked in half the surge from the crowd was so intense that a third of the people fell to the ground incredibly no one was hurt for the next night Peter rented loverboy's barricade and I became head of security for timber productions myself and five coworkers from Hallmark poultry and three production crew members man the barricade and did stage security for the next two shows
from then on we always tried to create a unique concert experience no matter the venue like the town pump Richards on Richards club soda Queen Elizabeth Theatre Orpheum the Vogue York Theatre on commercial drive The garden at the PNE to Expo theatre and the Plazer of nations or the Rage UBC sub ballroom Thunderbird arena Peter Mccolloch was the best promoter for alternative music in Vancouver
It is and was an honour to work for a man of that calibre for many years he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him personally and worked with him as well as all the timber production fans that came to support and enjoy an excellent production of every band he worked with
He will be forever in my memories Head of Stage security for Timber productions

❤ Angus McConnell ❤

Peter was a great guy, he put money in my pocket and we shared a lot of laughs. Peace out old man.

A heart as big as he was tall, and a literal pillar of the live music scene in this town. Peter, thank you for your kindness and for all the great live shows you brought to this town.

One of the great stars in the constellation of great Vancouverites that make up the history of the Commodore Ballroom. He would be too bashful to admit it or even hear of it, but he made Vancouver a better place.
