So sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was such a friendly, helpful man who I enjoyed chatting with in my early days of teaching at Burnaby North.

Ron was a very special individual and I have so many good memories of the time we spent together at Burnaby North. He cared deeply about our school, the staff and our students. He and his team worked incredibly hard to ensure that our school shone. He was always positive, cheerful, considerate of others and incredibly loyal. He was part of our Burnaby North Family and we were so appreciative of everything he did for us and for our school.

Ron earned our respect and trust, and when he left Burnaby North, he continued to earn the respect of others throughout the district until his retirement in 2003. When we talk about school and district culture, it is individuals such as Ron, who by his actions and words, kindness and consideration, helped build that culture, and allowed us to do our work and support our students and staff in a positive and professional environment.

My sincere condolences to the family.

Sheila Rooney, Retired Superintendent of Schools in Burnaby
and former Principal of Burnaby North Secondary School

Deepest Sympathies to you.
It was a joy working with and for Ron. He was the best choice for any supervisory role in which he worked. Ron's work ethic, dedication and loyalty were examples for us all and I'll always remember his wonderful sense of humour.
