right from the begnning. We shared many happy moments (especially some unique lunches). I was proud ot have been compadres (co-fathers). John I will always miss you but I let you go.
I wish you eternal pease and eternal joy. Please remember me and put in a good word for me with the BIG BOSS.

I know John to be a gentle man and a dear friend. John and I worked together on Naval Research projects. When I needed a boat partner to help ship the Larina to California from Norway, John came to my aid. John helped me sail the boat to many of our local islands and he was like a father to my kids on our sea fairing adventures.
During maintenance on the Larina in the shipyard John and I would rest in the shade under the boat and tell sea stories. John seemed to love these rest periods, I would create a picture of Tahaiti and its people during different events. With restored energy and some beautiful island in mind, we would then go back to work and try to get most of the paint on the Larina.
Around the same time I became aware of a co-worker named Mary who had similar personality as John. I made plans to have them meet and the rest is
history. Farewell my sailing pal.

In Memory of John Q. my step-father since 1961. I have many memories with John, sailing on the Larina to Catalina, skiing behind the Greenwater outboard, many beach trips, dune buggy riding exploring and albacore hunting in Los Osos, camp trips and boat trips not to mention the gift of my beloved brother, Little John. Thanks you for all you taught us. Rest in Peace, John

So sorry for your loss Dave. Sympathies to your family. What a long life he was able to live; we can't ask for more. Sincerely, Elaine Paul
