On Saturday, March 15, 2014 God embraced Judith Gail Drake, and carried her into His Kingdom.
After 70 years of following Jesus, bringing his light to all those around her, through her bright personality and extensive expression of creativity, she has gone home to be with her Heavenly Family. We are joyful to know she is now with her father, mother, brother Gary and all those whom she loved that passed before her.
Born to John and Ethel Feyma in Ventura, CA on May 28, 1943, she now watches over husband, Larry Drake; children, John (Debbie) Drake, Tracy (Dan) Hinton; sister, Shellie (Floyd) Weber; sister-in-law, Patty (John) Patterson; grandchildren, Heather (Sue) Drake, Danielle (Drew) Delaney, Jacob, Hannah, Beth, and John Hinton. Not to mention great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and her loving Drake family.
Judi was known for her amazing creativity and intelligence. She was a beautiful woman who loved life and was willing to tackle any task or adventure. To see her on the floor of the roller skating rink was a beautiful sight. Judi showed amazing grace and skill. Everything she did, she did with style! Her current passion was discovering her Dutch ancestry and quilting. She and her sister Shellie spent many hours making quilts for themselves, their family and charity. Judi and Larry loved to travel. Lately their favorite mode of travel was cruising, but they enjoyed many years of motor homing. Their travels blessed them with many friends.
Judi faced many health issues but she never let that limit or define who she was. She loved life, and fought hard to live every moment. But the time came that her body could no longer sustain that blessed soul. She leaves the love of Jesus behind her.
Friends may visit from 2-6 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A Celebration of Judi's Life will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 10 a.m., at South Coast Fellowship Church, 4050 Market Street, Ventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura. The family plans on making a memory book of Judi's life and would love written testimony of how she touched your life. A basket will be present at her service for your cards and letters. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com

Knowing Judi since grammar school it saddens me to see her passing. In life you don't often run into really good people. Both Judi and Larry have been special quality people to me, and I enjoyed the interaction these past few years. I know God has welcomed Judi with open arms.
