Linda Stanford Obituary

Linda Ann Stanford, 68, died suddenly on Friday, February 1, 2013, of a heart attack. Linda was a 52 year resident of Ventura County.

She was born in Rhode Island to Leslie J. Buzzelle and Thelma Buzzelle (Epp) on May 1, 1944. Her dad was in the Navy and she lived in several places around the world before her family settled in Camarillo in 1961. Linda attended Ventura High School. She then started her family and gave birth to five boys.

She worked as a waitress for many years while raising her family, then spent the last 20 years as a property manager in Oxnard, Port Hueneme, and Ventura.

Her greatest hobby was gambling. You would see her smiling and laughing as she played the slots at Chumash Casino. She loved to visit with friends and family while eating breakfast in area restaurants; such as Galloping Hen and 101 Ranch House.

Linda is survived by her sons, Troy Bartlett and wife Melissa, Joseph Bartlett and wife Mary, Michael Stanford and wife Joy, and John Bartlett; grandson, Terry Griffin; and many granddaughters, Jessica, Ashley, Taylor, Amy, Heather, Emily, and Gypsy Bartlett, Michelle, Danielle, Faith, and Emma Stanford; six great-grandchildren, Aaron Lopez, Ethan and Michael Reyes, Aiden, Hailey, and Nate Griffin; siblings, Kathy Godman, Dandi Taylor, Leslie Frederick, Paula Sudbey, and Bruce Buzzelle. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Leslie and Thelma Buzzelle; stepmother, Beatrice Buzzelle; brother, William Buzzelle; and one son, Daniel Lee Stanford.

A funeral service for Linda will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, 2 p.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road in Ventura with the Reverend Dan Hull officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
