Janette Zaslow Obituary

Janette Zaslow January 20, 1922 - February 28, 2013 Janette Gist Zaslow, 91, died Thursday February 28, 2013 peacefully with her children at her side. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Zaslow; son, David Zaslow (Deidre Argyle); sister, Dr. Marilyn Farquhar; step-brother, Barton Smith; cousins; nieces; nephews; and many close friends who were considered family. Born and raised in Tulare, CA, to Brooks and Alta Gist. She graduated from UC Berkeley and worked as a psychologist and accountant. Janette was a loving, caring, concerned mother, sister and aunt. She was generous, funny, engaging, and thoughtful. She loved to talk about the Gist family genealogy, food, travel, art, and life. A private funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sat. March 16, 2013 at the Tulare History Museum. A memorial fund has been established in Janette's name to support the Alzheimer's Association. Donations can be made at alz.org. "When earth life ends and venturing is done. They say another life has just begun. But whether or not I shall attain new birth.
