I had the great pleasure to see Walt play. I was a kid of 13 years old when he broke in. I cried like a baby when the Sox traded him in that big trade with Detroit.

My uncle (also Serbian) was a scout for the White Sox in the '50's and took me to see them play several times. I'm wondering if they knew each other. Condolences to the family, with appreciation for the baseball memories and especially his service during WWII.

I saw Walt play in Chicago many times including his tiff with Enos Slaugher. Although Joe Adcock broke up Haddax's perfect game not Walt condolences to his family.

Sorry for your loss
Jesus Christ told Martha his best friends sister that he would be resurrected in the last day. This is the Christian hope. To sleep in the grave till God calls him back. May that be the case with Walt Dropo.

My condolences to the Dropo family. Walt Dropo was one of my favorite athletes during his Red Sox days when I was a kid in Maine have never forgotten him! He played with a great team and I am still a Red Sox fan.

Our condolences to the Dropo family at this sad time. We will always cherrish the ball he signed for our son. He was one of the very few nice guys. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our sincere sympathy to Tina, Carla, Emily, Zurka and their families on the death of our dear friend Walter. My dad Christy Gercic used to sit outside under the apple trees in the summer listening to the Red Sox games and when Walter came to bat my dad would get goosebumps. He was just so excited for Walt. We were so proud of him and think of him and the family even though we now live in Leesburg, Fl.
Sincerely,
Doug and Muriel (Gercic) Evans
