My husband James Garrett age 64 fondly remembers Walt playing for the White Sox when he was a young man. He remembers Walt being a "Gentle Giant" recalling when Walt uncharacteristically laid out a New York Yankee in a team brawl. We are sorry for your loss. He will always be remembered.

As a two year old in 1949 and from a family of Red Sox fans, Walt was my hero. Don't know why but probably because I was from Norwich and I loved his name! Condolences to his family.

As a kid, I remember how excited I was when "my" White Sox got Walt Dropo. He is a baseball legend.

Please accept my deepest condolonces to the family & friends of Walt Dropo. I remember watching him play baseball throughout his career. As a Chicago White Sox fan, I have cherished the memories of Walt playing first base in Comiskey Park. He was a great player. May God grant you comfort in this great loss.
