Uncle Wally tried to touch all the generations the best he could. He told me something when I was a kid that still stands out strongly in my mind. He said Mark, You're a Fart Smeller, I mean a Smart Feller. Uncle Wally took me to my first RedWings game when I was like ten or eleven years old at Olympia Stadium. They tore the stadium down a few years after when the Redwings moved to the Joe Louis Arena. It was free hockey stick night to kids 12 and younger. I still vividly remember that day. I also remember all the times that we went to the cottage in the summer and most winters. The first time I ever fished was with Uncle Wally. One summer I went up with just the guys to go fishing when I was a child. It was me, Grandpa, Uncle Wally and Uncle Wally's family friend. You get a good feeling when you recall times like that. I'm sure you have many good memories as well...

You'll be missed Uncle Wally

Uncle Wally was a very special man. He had a special way about him and the kids loved him to pieces...They were always glad to see Uncle Wally.
