Mrs. Marguerite (Abbondanzio) Antonellis, of Waltham, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. She was 88. Marguerite was born in Fondi, Italy on July 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Onorato and Mary (DeFloria) Abbondanzio. Her family came to America through Ellis Island in 1930. She was raised and educated in Brighton and married Louis J. Antonellis in St. Columbkille's Church on April 12, 1947. In 1955 the couple moved to Waltham where they raised their family and have lived ever since. They enjoyed fifty happy years of marriage until Lou's death on April 26, 1997. Marguerite was a talented homemaker, interior decorator and cook. She was also a voracious reader. Marguerite leaves her children, Richard L. Antonellis and his wife, Patricia, of Falmouth, Carmela M. Ryan and her husband, Paul, of North Billerica and Mary E. Antonellis of Waltham; her grandchildren, Louis Antonellis, Michelle Pierce, Richard Antonellis, Jr., Cali Antonellis, Krislyn Antonellis, Andrew Ryan and Jacqueline Kono; her great-grandchildren, Elise, Erica, Louis, John, Thomas, Nicholas and Mia; many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Chloe. She was the sister of the late Frank Abbondanzio and Louise Maselli. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, October 20th, in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. We all loved Marguerite and she will be missed greatly at every future family event. Her smiling face was at so many of our happiest family gatherings.
