Alberta Rae Kordell (Age 82)
On Friday, March 25, 2016, of Rockville, MD. Beloved wife of 60 years to Alfred J. Kordell; mother of Helena Jacobs, Steven (Michelle) Kordell, Daniel (Susan) Kordell and Geoffrey (Karen) Kordell. Sister of Joan Seifert of Cranberry Township, PA. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, March 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick''s Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Rd. Rockville, MD 20853 on Wednesday, March 30, at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Patrick''s Catholic Church.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Manor Lake has lost a great community advocate and dedicated friend and neighbor. Condolences to the family and friends. Rae definitely can't be replaced and her absence will be mourned greatly.

In addition to keeping me healthier than I deserved, Rae gave me the best piece of advice on parenting I ever received. Just before my daughter was born, when I was so nervous about being a Dad I could hardly think, she told me to remember that "there are no "bad" ages. Tough days, maybe, but no bad ages.
