ALICE CHEN GESSNER  
Alice C. Gessner, 91, passed away October 15, 2016. She was born January 3, 1925 in Shanghai, China. She received her master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, worked and raised her family in Glen Ridge, NJ before retiring to Silver Spring, MD. She moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2013. Alice is survived by her son, Kelvin (Carol) Chen; daughters, Grace Chen and Elaine (Michael) Marotta; grandchildren Alison and Jonathan Marotta. She was predeceased by her husband, Adolf Gessner. A Funeral Service will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. W, Silver Spring, MD 20901 on Monday October 24 at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association or American Heart Association.www.collinsfuneralhome.com
