On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Durkin; mother of Gregory P. Durkin, John C. (Agnes) Durkin, Mary Christine (Mauro) Ramos, Barbara E. (the late James) Darr, and the late Kevin W. Durkin; grandmother of Keaven M. Freeman (John Shipp, Jr.), Nicole Durkin (Shaun Steele), Sarah F. Durkin, Christopher J. (Penny) Durkin, Paul R. Ramos, Patrick R. Durkin, Robert A. Durkin, Jessica N.G. (Jamie) Miller, Elizabeth W. (Nicholas) Brackett, and Alexandra Durkin; great-grandmother of Zair Durkin, Giovanna "Gigi" Cappetta, Jinx Durkin, Gaia Brice, Jade Miller, and Sean Steele. I was so fortunate to spend a week in the Durkin household in 1968. Mrs. Durkin introduced me to sun tea for the first time, and I've been drinking iced tea ever since. She made me feel right at home.

You were just like my mother. I love you so much. I was lucky enough to also have you as a wonderful friend. Thanks for all those important life lessons. Remember to always poke holes in your pototo before baking. That was a messy oven.
