BARBARA ATHANASOPOULOS PANANOS  
On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, Barbara Pananos of Washington, DC passed away peacefully at her home. She was the beloved wife of Christos E. Pananos who passed away in 1995. In 1970, Barbara joined the regional staff of Muscular Dystrophy Association and stayed with them for 16 years, working every Jerry Lewis Telethon with great pride and enthusiasm. She loved her work and was touched by the little patients she helped. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 36th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007 on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral or Capital Caring, 50 F St. , NW., Suite 3300, Washington, DC 20001.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
