BETTYE ANN FOLZ
Our beloved mother Bettye Ann Folz of Rockville, MD passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Bettye was born May 22, 1940 in Evansville, Ind. the fifth of 10 children to Joseph and Esther (Scheessele) Browning. She married Robert "Bob" Folz in 1962. They had three girls. Widowed in 1975, she raised the girls on her own. She worked at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School for 20+ years. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and three sisters. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Denise (Scott) Madgey, Cheryl (Jared) McArthur, Kim (Phil) Perez; special niece Michaela Cass; six grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Friday, November 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Norbeck and Muncaster Mill Roads, Rockville, MD on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I only knew Bettye a very short time; I met her in a swimming class at the Olney pool. After class, we would talk together in the hot tub, and she was just the nicest person and so easy to talk to. She really was a joy to be around, and I am glad I got to know her if only for a very short time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless her in Heaven.

Dear Denise, Cheryl, Kim and Michaela,
I am so sorry and sad to hear of your mom's/aunt's sudden passing. I don't know if you will remember me from our St. Jude's days or from your mom's conversations with me at GC that she may have shared with you. She was such a sweetheart to me- always taking the time to ask me how my family and I were doing, and she never complained about anything! She and I did not see each other that often, but I always enjoyed having a chat with her when I would stop by GC. She saw 2 of my children completely finish at GC. My last one is there now, and she got a chance to meet your mom a few weeks ago. Your mom touched many people's lives and had such a kind heart. She spoke so proudly of all of you and her grandchildren. I will miss her very much! I apologize for the delay in sending this, as I just heard the news from a GC email bulletin sent from Dr. Barker. I am so sorry I could not be at the services. I pray for all of you that time will ease the pain of your loss quickly and that the wonderful memories of your mom/aunt will bring joy in place of your sorrow. May God Bless you and keep you! Please accept my sincere sympathies. Do not underestimate the value of prayer. It is not that prayer simply makes us feel better. The " Hearer of prayer " promises to give holy spirit to his servants who sincerely ask for it. ( Psalm 65 : 2; Luke 11 : 13 ) Yes, more than anything else, a relationship with God can help you cope with the death of a loved one.
