CHRISANTHI KARAKOSTAS
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, in her 73rd year, on Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Monrovia, MD. Beloved wife of the late John F. Karakostas; mother of Eleni Bokas and her husband John, Frank Karakostas, Tina Lundstedt and her husband Jack, and Chris Karakostas; proud grandmother to Katerina, Chrisanthi, Nikki, Tony, Brittany, Kristina, Chrysanthi, Lexi and Jack; and proud great-grandmother of Ava and Arianna Jackson, and Aidan and Melina Linberg. Chrisanthi was born in Dorio, Greece and immigrated to the United States taking up residence in Chicago, IL. After meeting and marrying her husband John, they established a home in Maryland where Chrisanthi spent the duration of her life dedicated to the fulfillment of her family. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. with Trisagion prayer service and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, 7701 Bradley Boulevard, Bethesda, MD, on Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m. Interment All Souls Cemetery.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
