"Father Power was a brilliant and inspiring professor of theology whom I was privileged to have as a teacher at CUA in 1978. His influence on me and my priesthood of 35 years has been profound. One day I hope to visit his grave in Tewksbury Mass where in the late 1960's I attended the minor seminary. +Requiescat in Pace"

May he rest in peace. His wisdom and depth of insight into the liturgy as a celebration of the paschal mystery was unparalleled. A truly great scholar, devoted religious, and priest.

You are one of the Greatest Intellectuals whom encouraged me. Late Prof. David N. Power OMI, you never got tired encouraging me and challenging me. You gave the philosophy of accepting tension in life. Even in your sickness , you were always there doing what God blessed you with. You shared your knowledge well. To me, you remain one of the greatest philosopher and Theologian of our times. Eternal Rest Be Granted to you God's faithful servant.

David was the formative influence on my PhD years at CUA, and I have frequently remembered him fondly in the many years since then. He had a deep understanding of the purpose and practice of liturgy, an impish--almost devilish--wit, and a natural Irish charm. He was an excellent teacher. The world is poorer today.

David was a wonderful human being. All of my interactions with him were uplifting. He was generous with his time and very affirming of others. Jake Empereur, S.J.
