Demetre Georgopoulos (Age 85)
Born June 8, 1931 in Vourvoura, Arcadia, Greece. Passed away peacefully and surrounded with love, on February 19, 2017, in Silver Spring, MD. He was a wonderful husband and devoted father and is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Vasiliki "Vicky" and children, Sarantos Georgopoulos (Jennifer) and Kathy Duckworth (John) as well as his grandchildren, Sophia, Demetre, Johnny and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sisters, Panayiota Panopoulos, Demetra Georgopoulos, Athanasia Zavras, Maria Tsioros (George); and countless nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) Tuesday, February 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. Trisagion Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy to be held at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 15100 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, February, 22 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
