FRANCIS MEEKS Obituary
FRANCIS LEE MEEKS "Frank"
Frank died on August 15, 2015. He was 97. A native of Schuyler, Virginia, Frank worked at the West Virginia Pulp & Paper Company before serving as a navigator in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war, he worked at the National Security Agency from its beginning until his retirement in 1975. He retired a second time, in 1998, from Apple Federal Credit Union. Frank was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Eda Hylton Meeks, and their daughter, Rebecca. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa (Fred Teal Jr.) and Janet; grandson, Thomas Meeks-Teal; and one of his eight siblings, Nancy Meeks Hubbard. Plans for a memorial service in Covington, Virginia, will be announced. In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of kindness for someone today.www.collinsfuneralhome.com

Mr. Meeks interviewed me for a position with NSA in 1961. We often communicated over the years. From 1967-1970 I was in England and Mr. Meeks came to England on TDY with NSA. My wife and I had the privilege to have him at our house for dinner. He and I were close over the years to follow and He became my Supervisor shortly before his retirement in 1975. My next contact with him was in 2006 when I lost a younger Sister. He was a very dear friend, co-worker and Supervisor. As life went on we shared some similar losses in that I buried my Wife, Oldest Daughter and Grandson. I know He was a good Christian Man and know where He is. He was an inspiration in my life and I look forward to seeing him again. Sorry I never heard of His passing. Mreynjn316@ aol.com. Marty Reynolds
