GARY BIRD SEWARD (Age 52)
On Sunday, October 11, 2015, of Bethesda, MD. Born August 1, 1963 in Washington, DC. He was the youngest son of the late Richard and Anna Seward. He is survived by his wife, Zubeida Elhindi; a son, Rafael Seward, and two daughters, Layla and Dyala Seward. He is also survived by seven brothers and sisters and many loving nieces and nephews. He was an active member of The Punishers LEMC Motorcycle Club. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment National Memorial Park/King David Gardens, Falls Church, VA at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, P.O. I guess I have not been a very good friend these past few years. I should have called, I should have kept in touch. A few weeks ago I did drive by your house to see if you were around. It looked quiet and abandoned there and I was sure that you had moved away. Today I learned that you had to leave us and that the good lord had called you home. The reason why is clear to me. We talked about this philosophically in our many conversations. Like you I have never questioned God's plan. With that being said the world will never be as colorful as it once was, my heart never that light.... Goodbye my friend I will see you soon.

I met Gary about a year ago at Battley's. In the this very short time we talked a bit. Gary was full of life and very wonderful to be around. I was truly touched to hear of this tragic accident. He will be missed. My prayer to his family.

I didn't know Gary personally but I am a motorcyclist who lives in the neighborhood (just off Greentree Rd). I can see that my son, Nathan's, old boss at V&D Pizza was one of Gary's friends. I was very sorry to hear of this tragic accident that took Gary's life. I wanted to wish his family strength through this very difficult time. RIP Gary.
