GEORGE CALVIN MURPHY (Age 89)
On Sunday, October 4, 2015, formerly of Hyattsville, MD. Beloved husband of the late Mary K. Murphy; father of Michael W. Murphy, Thomas E. Murphy, Mary Pat Catena, Sharon A. Seymour, Sandra K. Warner, the late Robert E. Murphy, Jean M. Alison, John G. Murphy and the late Kathleen A. Murphy. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 12 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Dear John, Jean, Sandy, Sharon, Pat, Tom and Mike, I am so sorry for hear of the loss of your dad. Some of my fondest memories growing up are of playing basketball and baseball on your dad's teams. I so much appreciate the time he took to give me rides home from practice and games, listening to Ken Beatrice "Sports Call" radio program. The world is a better place because Mr. Murphy is part of it.
