Please accept my sincere sympathies. May God's holy spirit or active force, equip you with the " power beyond what is normal " to go from one day to the next. ( 2 Corinthians 4 : 7 ) Remember : God can help his faithful servants to endure any and every problem they may face.

I just learned of Joey's passing this evening and I am crushed. I had just inquired about her early last week. She and I worked together at the Washington Ear from 2000 to 2006. Joey was a smart, caring, wonderful and good person. I remember her loving stories about her family, her travels, and her volunteer work. She was also very generous and thoughtful, sending each of my daughters books inscribed with beautiful messages that I will cherish always! She sent me a beautiful Christmas card every year with kind and thoughtful words. We had many fun visits together outside of work with co-workers and volunteers. Even while at work we had many good laughs together. I just can't believe she is gone! My thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Joey's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. I grew up next door and always was welcomed into her home. She will be greatly missed. Say hi to my folks, Joey. May God bless you.

Always loved the blue bottles in the window.

My dear sweet friend I shall miss you more than you could ever imagine. I shall remember with great fondness the times we spent together, the notes and the long phone conversations. Rest in peace dear friend.

I met Mrs. Joey through my sister, Kemi. Mrs. Joey was her mentor, but more like a second mom. Once finding out that Kemi had siblings, she took my other sister and I under her wings as well. We were immigrants from Nigeria who had no extended family in Maryland. She would take us swimming, to museums, out to eat, gardening, painting, etc. She opened our eyes to a new world of experiences. She never missed birthdays or events like graduations. She was a part of our family. She watched us grow up and would always send us postcards as the years passed. She was an angel sent from GOD and I'm so grateful that GOD allowed such a beautiful soul to be in our presence for so long. Thank you for everything, Mrs. Joey. I love you and I will never forget you.

Joey was a great neighbor, mentor and taught me to drive way before I was 16. So many fond memories of growing up in Woodmoor with her family. God bless you, Joey and keep you in the palm of his hand. Thoughts and prayers to Ken, Carol & Kenny

Mauri and I are so saddened to learn of Joey's passing. What a joy it was to live next door to the Potters. She was always so enthusiastic and ready for whatever was next. We shared so many happy times and of course her work for the Washington Ear will always connect us. Ken, our sincere condolences to you and the rest of the family. She will be missed by many.

Joey was such an inspiration to me! She opened my eyes to a whole new world. I loved going to your house, where Joey taught me to sew, and see things with JOY and great love! She was an amazing woman who gave to so many - Lighthouse for the Blind, helping underprivileged children. She lived a life of dignity and grace and I am so honored to have known her.
Heartfelt sympathy to her beautiful family. Love you all!
