I feel sad when I see her picture hanging at Starbucks on West Point, and remember her for courage and love for our country
You were the baby of the team, the silly, goofy one. You never took life serious but yet always protected your teammates and your goal. You were always quiet and soft spoken but yet when you spoke you commanded an audience and your message was worth listening to. I miss you kid! I hate that you are taken so young but your legacy lives on with so many people that had the pleasure of having you in their life. You my friend are not and will not ever be forgotten. Your words of wisdom are still embedded in my mind. Cheers, peace and love.
may god bless you for serving and keep you in his arms for always and your family and friends thank you
With humble gratitude for your sacrifice, the Page Family remembers you this Memorial Day. Our love and prayers go out to your parents, brothers, and sister. Love, Mike, Ginny, Hillary, Matt, Zenny, and Andrew Page
I remember. I bow before you with gratitude and sorrow and hope for a better world that you worked to achieve.

Just stopping by to let you know that you are not forgotten. Thank you for your dedication and service. Rest in Peace
I recently did a children vacation bible school. All the children are new Americans. I had the honor to remember 1st Lt. Laura Walker as the children prepared for the "Pledge of Allegiance". I shared with the children how blessed they are to live in the greatest nation in the world! Our ensign, flag stands for freedom and freedom is never free. I had 5 large American flags I asked the children, who would like to hold the flag, in honor of young brave defenders of freedom, like 1st Lt Laura Walker, who gave her life to keep Americans free. I told the children, this is why we have great respect for our flag. If you have the honor of holding our flag, it is never to touch the ground. Our flag or ensign is who we are as a people. With that, 4 little boys and 1 girl asked to hold our flag. I reminded the children, whenever you recite the "Pledge of Allegiance" remember the "New Generation which the stars have fallen up, remember Lt. Walker and all our Armed Forces protecting you today. Little Adam age 6, then led the children as we recited our "Pledge of Allegiance". The children were so careful not to let the flag touch the ground. When it came time to put the flags away one of the boys said, Chap. Desiree did I do a good job with the flag? I said, "You most certainly did!"
To 1st Lt. Laura Walker, the children of New York will never forget you. You are our hero. Because Jesus lives we know we shall see you again at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. We love and honor you. Thank you for keeping us free.

To the Family of Laura M.Walker,
I would like to express my condolence to the family on the loss of your dear loved, I know it has been six years but it has to be just as hard for the family.
I like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible, something Laura would have appreciated.
At Job 14:14-15-"If a man dies, shall he live again"?
The answer is Yes, because Almighty God has not only the power, but he also has the desire to resurrect persons whom he chooses.
How would you feel if you knew that God promises a reuion with your loved one was possible right here on the earth, under the best of conditions?
Well, the Bible promises at Psalms37:29-"The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it".
I hope these scriptures bring the family a measure of peace.
From a Stranger who truly cares.
Your valor far overshadows the strength of death. In remembrance of your sacrifice, we are inspired and determined to stay strong and fight a just cause. Your memories are food for us as conquerors. United, we shall fulfill your last dreams. Good night.

There probably aren't any, but I'll try. As proud as you are of her, remember how proud and happy she must have been when she graduated the Academy.Time alone will heal your wounds. As hard as it maybe, especially during Memorial Day weekend, try to celebrate her wonderful and happy life. May G-d bless you and your loved ones.

I've read your story many times Laura and today seems to be the right time to leave a message for you on this site. All the words written about you, by family, friends, service buddies and your Classmates tell me that you were an exceptional young woman, working hard in one of the most difficult areas of your chosen profession, yet always having time for others. As so often happens when I read about someone like you, I wish that things had turned out differently - that you had been given the gift of a long life, that your country had been able to continue to benefit from your service and that you had been able to pass on your skills to others. Above all I wish that your family, those who love you best, had been given the opportunity to spend long years in your presence. The words written here, and your beaming smile, may be all that I will ever really know of you, but I'm grateful for that knowledge, and I wish your family and friends sunny days to share and enjoy their special memories of you. Rest in Peace Lt. Walker.
we are all with you no matter were they send you all.
To the family of 1ST LT. Walker:

God Bless you and your family. After reading about Laura she was truly an Angel placed on earth.
I was looking through the pictures of all the personal lost in action while serving over there and was drawn to this smiling happy face and it really touched me when I read about her death.
The heavens gained another star
When this earth took her mortal body
Bless her x
My husband, Mike, and I were recently at West Point and we both agreed prior to the trip to visit Laura's grave. As we drove up to the graveyard I asked my husband how we would find her amongst the hundreds of departed graduates. We parked our car and entered the area. I fully expected to spend some time searching but as soon as we entered there she was. In my mind I could hear her say "Hi, Mrs. Page!" accompanied with her bright, infectious smile. The last time I saw Laura was about 1991 when we left Germany. She was my daughter Hillary's good friend. The pain and sadness I feel of her life cut short is consoled with the thought that she is with God in heaven and living a new life with Jesus. We are but visitors here on earth. God bless the Walker family and may He comfort them in their sorrow.

With my last breath I promise you that you are honored, respected and we pray that your smiling face finds a small piece of rest in heaven. Lieutenant Walker, we thank you. You did not know me or my family, but you stood to protect us. Thank you, you shall be honored.
May The Lord Bless and Protect Your Soul. Thank you for your service.
There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Thank you for the sacrifice made by 1st Lt Walker and the sacrifice made by everyone who loves and misses her! May God bless all of you!!
Today I watched a report about the USMA, the soldiers graduating, the incoming class of 2011 and the history of the Academy, the story touched on the graduates that have been lost and how cadets are told of the loss. They showed 1st Walkers headstone but did not tell her story, it was something I felt I needed to learn, her life, her sacrifice. May all who knew her find comfort in their memories. Her legacy will live on.
An extroidinary soldier of which I was proud to have known.
we recently went on a class fieldtrip to washington d.c. at the arlington cemetery we were told to pick a fallen soldier out of the many on the wall. i chose laura.
Love Lives On
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
far as long as there is memory,
they'll live on in the heart.
I found my way here by accident, and now find that I cannot move on because of the tears in my eyes, but not of sorrow only -- but also of awe, reverence, gratitude and profound respect, for the service and sacrifice of this admirable young officer -- and of those who knew and loved her.
Thank you Laura for your service, though service seems to small a word.
Thank you for your greatness though I never knew you. I'm a citizen unworthy of your sacrifice.
Rest in peace dear girl.
What to say about someone so wounderful that hasn't already been said?
Laura you will be missed. I will never forget all the things you taught me so long long ago. I will never forget that voice of yours and what joy it brought to me to here you sing.
God be with you Laura.
I remember the day we lost like tiw as yesterday. I remember the guard on the TOC and wondering what was going on, then brandy told me that someone had gotten killed and wounded, later we found out that both you and Davis had gotten killed. I will never forgot the dining in; hanging out smoking cigars and drinking beer!. Your never forgotten!
CW4 Jeremy Light
I still remember the day I was "told" to show the ropes to a new, fresh out of West Point, "Butter-Bar." That was nearly three-years ago. May we never forget all the moments we shared with her.
As a parent of a marine and he has been in Iraq on his second tour. My heart goes out to your family and to all those that knew Laura. May God help you through these tough times and i want to thank Laura for her brave choice. Keep God close to your heart and he will not let you down bless you all

Dear Walker Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious hero Laura. My heart aches for you. Thank you 1LT Laura M. Walker, a true American hero.
My condolences to the Walker family.
Laura may you rest in peace. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. You have earned your golden halo and wings. May you continue to soar in the heavenly clouds up above.
Laura was one of the sweetest people one could ever have the privilege to meet. I had the honor of playing on the men's team handball team and got to know Laura well. Her smile was electrifying and she always had a positive word to share. She will truly be missed. Her spirit will live on in all of those who knew her and our lives will forever be changed for having known her.
Dear Anderson Family:
I am SGT Ragnar “Ace” Jamieson and I knew Laura very well. Laura and I were friends and classmates at Giessen American High School in Germany. She was always there to help others, she made us laugh, and always gave all.
I was shocked to here that she was no longer among us from our friend SSG Ernesto Chee-Chong. We both served in Iraq and understood the risk of the Ultimate Sacrifice. As a soldier you accept that fact. However hearing that the world has lost Laura left me speechless.
All gave some, Laura gave all. God bless you Lt. You are missed and will always be in our hearts.
My heartfelt sympathy to the Walker family in the loss of Laura. I did not know Laura, but my heart is broken and I am saddened for your loss of such a fine young lady and hero. May God bring you peace in your heart as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you hold so close. Please know that you are in my heart and prayers. Laura it has been 6 months since you were taken. My heart was touched by the many beautiful things said about you. You are a hero and you will never be forgotten.
I send each of you a hug from the most inner part of my heart.
Love and Peace
To live in the hearts

Sorry to hear about Laura. I knew

As Kris stated, the only thing worthy of such a fine cadet and officer and the only thing any Pointer can hope to be said of them - 'Well done, be thou at peace.' As one of Laura's former classmates, all I can say is the world got a little bit darker the day we lost her.
I never had the privilege of meeting Laura Walker, yet the Long Gray Line and our nation feel her loss.
With no intent at sounding glib, I am reminded of the Billy Joel song, "Only the Good Die Young," for we have lost one of our best.
We can never repay Laura or the Walker family for their sacrifice. But we can honor Laura by treasuring and protecting the ideals that she fought for.
Well done. Be thou at peace.
God Bless our fine men and women in the military, and especially their families..

Although you and I may never meet in this lifetime. I can only say from one parent to another on how my heart aches for your loss today. My son is serving in Iraq now and daily there is never a thought that doesn't go through my mind that today could be the day I could receive those devastating words that I know many parents and loved ones have already experienced. I pray for many of the soldiers that is serving now and those who have lost their loved ones and I get on here to keep connected somehow to people such as yourselves, to be grateful my son is alive but also to be sympathetic and feel your pain. I know that God is close at hand and hears even the softest prayer today as your tears turns to silence, and you don't have the words to express your grief...He bears all your wounds and sorrows and He loves you today.
Thank you for your sacrifice and know that the 864th will always keep you in there hearts. I made the trip to Iraq with you and only wish i could have gone on your last journey. You were a special person with a heart of gold. Keep your eye on the rest of the 864th.

I would like to express my condolences to the family of Laura Walker. I did not know Laura but am thankful for those who have given there life for our freedom. She is a Hero and I hope that brings you peace in the future. I lost my cousin in the world trade center he was a firefighter and I can't praise people like Laura who are trying to prevent another 911.

Though I don't know you, I too lost a child this year. Be prepared for the most difficult days ahead, however, when you hold on to those "nail scarred hands", it will be easier to get through. My deepest sympathy and my prayers are with your family now and in all your days to follow.
Dear Family & Friends,
The true freedom fighters in the world are the military men and women of the United States. Thank you Lt. Laura for giving all to preserve freedom. I teach children the bible and we pray for our military everyday. I hope as you look down from heaven you will be proud of the next generation of soldiers who will defend freedom.
My family lost a brother on 9/11 but as Americans we all lost. Americans are a peaceful people who value life given to us from Almighty God. When we lose one life we feel it as our own.
We will never forget you. You have the prettiest smile a true warriorgal. Until we meet in heaven know that we will keep fighting to preserve our glorious nation ..... America land that I love.
laura walker has been my very best friend the past 10 years. there is so much to say and so many emotions following that statement that i can't really relay them in writing very well, but she now knows exactly what was in my heart and that is what is most important. i will forever mourn the plans we had made for the future, but i will cherish the past so very dearly. i cannot imagine my life without you in it, and although you will not be there to walk by my side, you will always be with me in everything i do. i love you so very much, and i am so proud of you. thank you for sacrificing your life for all of us. there is no greater gift than to lay your life down for a friend. we will all be forever grateful. i will love you always, and i'll do what i can to honor your memory. always in my thoughts and forever in my heart, lyndsey
Be thou at Peace.
Laura was a wonderful person and we will miss her greatly. It is such a tragedy to have one of our best taken from us- she is surely one of the best guardian angels watching over us now. A talented leader, an extraordinary friend and just a superb young woman- Laura, "Well done, be thou at peace"
I pray that Laura's family will find the strength to deal with the pain of loosing a loved one. Nothing can replace her, but G-d will be always by your side and help you endure the pain you will feel throughout the years. Her memory will always live in your hearts and in the hearts of those who worked with her.

Michigan Military Mom
Lord, help us put our faith in You and feel Your presence near Through each moment of uncertainty, whatever we may fear. Give us the strength and understanding, and reassurance, too, That You're always here beside us when we put our trust in You.
I was in BCO 864th with LT Walker. I was the operations clerk while she was Platoon Leader. I can not express my sadness of hearing of her loss. We did not know each other well but we spoke often at work and she was always working on getting her mission acomplished. I see her face and remember every exchange we had, I remember someone asked her why she chose to be in the service, she replied that she always knew that she wanted to serve. She was very sweet and I am very sorry for your loss and ours.
To Laura's parents,
I am so sorry. I have a daughter over there also, a recent military academy graduate.
I think about your daughter every day since I heard. She sticks with me, the absolute randomness of death and the sense of safety we feel when they get out of Iraq, only to have this happen.
I feel for you and can't say anything except how sorry I am.
I met Valerie and Chris/Keith when they came to visit his parents. Gen. Walker and Margaret were members of my church. I have a son about the age of Laura, another son (now deceased) about the age of Brian, and like Valerie and Chris another boy and girl. I last saw Laura when she was a pall bearer at her grandfather's funeral. I recently found a picture of her and my oldest son when they were about 6 years old. I too have lost a child. My son David, 20 years old, was killed in an accident in December of 2003. I will remember Laura's family daily in my prayers.
Laura, Pacemakers will miss you. SIGO
My heart and prayers go out to you Valarie, and your family, for the tragic loss of Laura. It seems such a short time ago that we were all innocent children playing in the snow at West Point. God Bless you all.
My son was Laura's classmate at WestPoint and is also in Afghanistan with the 864th Engineer group...my daughter and her fiancee are also in Afghanistan as well, so these are difficult times for many of us. My son was a friend of Laura's and this has affected him deeply. My heart goes out to you. I had just read Laura's article about the road building project shortly before her death and was so impressed by her article and photos. I am wishing there is something to do to help, but know there is no way to replace her...Please know your family and her memory are in the hearts of many strangers.
I met Laura my freshman year at Giessen American High School. A senior at the time, Laura, became the big sister I never had. She was always there to listen to me,and her warm smile could make anyone's day! Laura's compassion, sense of humor, and love for life, touched everyone she met. Although we lost touch over the years, I don't think she knew how much of an impact she had on my life. My deepest sympathies go out to the Walker's, and all that had the pleasure of meeting such a beautiful person. God Bless
Thank you to Laura and her family from a grateful American. I did not have the privilege to know you, but I send my thoughts and prayers to you now.
Be Thou at Peace.
Our sincere deepest condolences are extended to the family of another fallen hero from two very grateful Americans. Laura, thank you and may you rest in peace.
From one grieving war Mom to Laura's: from now on, the road will be long and rough; with many turns and drops. Her young and everlasting spirit though will keep you going strong till the day you will meet again, in Heaven. You will never walk alone. May God bestow his grace and love upon our brave children.
All of us that deployed with you the first time were very saddened by the news. I don't know what the right thing to say is. My famliy and I send all of our prayers to your family. I know that you have earned a set of wings and that you are flying high and watching over the rest of us.
Once Rugged Always Rugged.
I can't even begin to express our feelings of loss. Please tell your wife that our thoughts are with you and your family. I can only thank god that your daughter chose a higher calling. A calling that few today are willing to shoulder. She was defending what she believed in. She gave her all and, although I never met her, I knew her father and have always been proud of knowing him. Our thoughts are with you at this time of your mourning. God bless you all, Daniel W. Petry
I didn't know Laura well, but I did go to high school with her and played soccer with her...from what I remember of her, she always had a smile on her face whenever I saw her and was loved by many...although, I was not close to her, the news has shocked me still...my deepest sympathies and prayers go out to all those that loved her and had the opportunity to graced by her presence in their lives...thank you Laura, for serving our country proudly...
Laura Walker--fly with the eagle, let your spirit soar, the Higher Power has granted you the most a warrior can achieve in this life...
I remember Laura as a sweet four year old when I met Keith and Valerie for the first time. Laura grew up in a family devoted to love of country, God, and selfless service to the military family. My heart aches for the Walker and Warner families. Laura was just like her mom and dad-positive, loving and extremely bright. God bless Laura and the entire family.
I knew Laura when she was in second and thrid grade. She and my daughter were friends during the time their fathers briefly served together in Germany. She was a bright and caring little girl with a voice of an angel. Heaven is now being graced with her presence. My prayers go out to her mom, dad, family and friends.
To the family and friends of Laura, Our prayers go out to all of you during this very difficult time. My heart sank when we heard the news. Our son Ryan is serving in Afghanistan and was under the leadership of your daughter. So this really does hit close to home. May god bless you and keep you in his loving arms.
Laura was an excellent officer, a great friend, and a delightful human being. Her smile and love of life were two among her many great qualities. She will be tremendously missed and I know her legacy and spirit will remain in the hearts of all the people she touched in her short life.
In my eyes, Laura was, is, and always will be a beautiful, wonderful person and a hero to her country. She will always be with us in our hearts and minds. I am sure God is excited to have her join him in heaven, because she was an incredible person here on earth. My deepest sympathies go to her wonderful family.
Thank you for your sacrifice. Though I did not have the privledge to know you, I will be forever grateful for what you gave for this country and world. God Bless, you are in safe hands now.
I didn't have the honor of knowing Laura. I just want to express my deepest sympathy to her family and friends, and to show my apreciation for her - and their - sacrifice. You are all in my prayers.
