DALLAS PORTER WRIGHT COL US Army (Ret.)
On Tuesday, January 21, 2014, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Dorothy C. Wright; father of Dallas P. (Cynthia D.) Wright, Jr., Teresa Wright (Michael P.) Driskell and Patrick M. Wright; grandfather of Christopher D. Wright, Timothy R. Wright, Michael P. Driskell, Jr., Jeannette K. Driskell and Paul W. Driskell; brother of Lola Risener and Winfred Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valley Ponder and Rhoda Braden Wright, and 11 brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, January 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, in memory of Col. Dallas P. Wright. His dad performed my parents' marriage ceremony. I am from the Risener clan on my mother, Erma's side. I have never heard an unkind word about anyone in the Wright family.
