On Tuesday, August 20, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late David G. Rudy; mother of Janis (Regis) Sholtis, Joyce (George) Nuse, Jill Rudy and Joe (Terry) Rudy; grandmother of Catherine Metzger, Thomas Treacy, Treacy Hunter, Laura Nuse, Andrew Nuse, Erin Mae Rudy and Tyler Rudy; great-grandmother of Skylar, Mia Rose and Lucas Treacy. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, August 23, from 10 to 11 am. at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I know that Dorothy Rudy was proudest of what she left behind - kind hearted and loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a much loved mother and had such a kind and gentle manner with all she met. Mark and I are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers, hoping that your happy memories will eventually replace the loss that you are all feeling right now.

Dorothy, You were such a gently spirit who always listens to our tales. I will never forget the pancakes before a bike ride to the zoo, your orange bathing suit from Kmart, your gentle touch, and warm smile. One of your outstanding legacies is the wonderful children you raised. God bless the Rudy family.
